Flashback

Lost are the times when the only thing we cared about was to finish the school homework. The real fights ended at winning the TV remote. Sibling rivalry of proving their favorite tv show was considered the greatest achievement.

The infinite road trips with parents, spending hours to pick restaurants to dine out instead of having everything being delivered at our doorstep, our favorite songs playing non-stop on the CD Player which absolutely eliminated the confusion of picking songs from a hundred apps. Gone are the days where our laughter echoed with every step-down in the game of Snake and Ladder or with every bad number on the dice. I think relationships were less complicated and the world seemed like a place with endless possibilities. All these seem like memories locked in time.

Coming back home to mom's favorite Masala Maggi after a game of Hide and Seek was the sweetest and most difficult wait ever. Maggi on one hand and Horlicks on the other seemed like the perfect evening combination.

I hope these memories definitely reminded you'll of a memory you always cherish. If so, please do share with me in the comment section below :)

Uniforms and School Bags

The very first thing that comes to my mind when I say childhood is undoubtedly the green and cream shade uniform with a tiny belt along with perfectly oiled hair and braided plaits. This goes back to the time when my family was living in Kumta, a small town in Uttara Kannada district. My dad’s job often exposed us to new cultures, diverse traditions, and environment. It was always a learning experience for my brother and me. Our house was surrounded by lush green trees and every shade of flower you could possibly think. Our only companions were a dog named Tommy and a bunch of friends from a nearby locality. Memories of my stay in Kumta include the mini-gun fights that we used to have in our neighbor’s house, the hide and seek games under the huge jackfruit and mango trees, and w alking all around my locality with my doggy . Tommy was the only dog with whom I felt safe considering the fact that I am not a dog lover. Sunday afternoons were always engaged in dancing to ‘I’m a Barbie Gi...

Mumbai Mania!!

Everyone calls it the city of dreams, I always wondered why? All the stories I actually heard made a lot more sense when I first set foot in the 'sapno ki nagri- Mumbai' The hot summers, the mad rains, the pleasant winters, and the ever-busy crowd, this city never failed to surprise me. Walking kilometers down the Marine drive or sitting at the shore-- realizing the absolute positivity that the evening breeze has to offer. Believe me, when I am saying this, it's surreal. From having zero clues about my Survival here to finding the strength to believe I can do it, it has been a journey,, an absolute roller coaster ride that I will cherish throughout my coming days! The crazy but yummy food, local trains hustling with people, and the 24*7 availability of chai, and I think this is what gets the people closer and super welcoming! The process of meeting new people from all walks of life was so overwhelming but also managed to help me grow through the process of independe...
